ChatSocket / Embedding

One line to go live

Put the room on your site in under a minute

Three ways to run ChatSocket: a script tag that renders the room inline, an iframe that isolates it, or a standalone URL you link to directly.

Script tag (recommended)

Drop one script tag where you want the room to appear. It renders inline, inherits your site width and works with your existing CSS. This is the smoothest option for most sites.

Inline rendering

The room appears as a block inside your page flow, no scrolling iframe.

Width inheritance

It matches the container you place it in, so it always fits your layout.

Lazy loading

The room loads when the visitor scrolls to it, keeping your initial page load fast.

Iframe

An iframe isolates the room from your page CSS, which is useful if your site has aggressive styles. Set the width and height yourself, and the room scales to fit.

Standalone URL

Every room has a public URL at www.chatsocket.net/chat/your-room. Link to it directly, open it in a new tab, or embed the URL in an iframe on a page you control.

Iframe API

For advanced integrations, the Iframe API lets your page talk to the embedded room: read the current user, send messages from your own UI, and react to room events. It is a small, well documented JavaScript API.
