ChatSocket / Points and Leaderboard

Give people a reason to return

Points that turn chat into a habit

Members earn points for sending messages, staying active and participating. The live leaderboard ranks them automatically, and the competition keeps people coming back.

How points work

Every message a member sends earns points. Staying connected and active in the room also earns a trickle of points over time. The numbers are stored on the account, so a member's total follows them across sessions and devices.

The leaderboard

The leaderboard lives in the left menu and shows the top members ranked by points. It updates live, so when someone sends a message and jumps a rank, everyone sees it. The leaderboard is the room's scoreboard, and it is the single most effective engagement tool a chat room can have.

What you can configure

Points per message

Set how many points each message is worth. Tune it so activity feels rewarded without inflating scores.

Points over time

Decide whether members earn passive points for staying connected, and how often.

Leaderboard visibility

Choose which ranks can see the leaderboard, or make it public to everyone in the room.

Points and ranks

Optionally tie rank promotion to points, so active members rise through your hierarchy automatically.

Why it works

Points give members a visible measure of their standing in the community. A new member sees the leaderboard and wants to climb it. A regular member checks their rank daily. The result is a room that feels alive, with activity that compounds instead of fading.
